Born and raised in North Carolina, WHISPER POET was fortunate enough to attend a girls’ boarding school that not only tamed her drawl, but opened her eyes to the incredible diversity of cultures in our world.

“I’ve always had a love of learning and understanding other cultures, and one of the great strengths of poetry and a reason I love it is its ability to express culture in a powerful and recognizable way.”

Whisper began writing prose and poetry seriously after her marriage ended. Fully formed poems of heartbreak and confusion began unearthing themselves through her pen, and within the space of a few months she had filled an entire composition book. Workshops and open mics led her to meet and become friends with members of Guerilla Poets, and from there, to become a member of the Instagram online poetry community. From creating and leading workshops on mental health, to hosting her shows, The Heart Of The Artist and Rise N Rhyme, Whisper is always dreaming up something new. She loves cooking for friends, cracking inappropriate jokes, techno music and studying metaphysics. She actively engages with Guerilla Poets for the good of the community and focuses on spreading love and light wherever possible.
