Author/Poet/Independent Journalist
I’m an independent journalist, poet and author published in over 100 international platforms. You can find my work in Indiana Voice Journal, Dawn, The Diplomat, News International, Feminism in India, Outlook India, Arre, Beltway Poetry Quarterly, London Grip, Muddy River Poetry Review, and Harpy Hybrid Review, among others.
My stories have even been featured on the first page of Google, driven sales for clients and used in court, challenging insensitive & unethical portrayal of an actual rape incident in a Pakistani drama.
I’ve also won several awards, including "Writer of the Month" (three times), "Performer of the Month," and "Oxford Brookes International Prompt Competition' 21", and a nomination for "Best of The Net 2021".
In 2024, I co-founded Aurat Kahani, which was named one of the top 15 ideas for the "Empowering Women Journalists" grant by the US Embassy in 2024.
My work has been taught at places like Penn State University and featured on various media outlets like Radio Pakistan, World Inkers Network, and Gila Mimbres Community Radio, to name a few.
I have also participated as a female journalist in academic researches, studies & articles for Dawn, the University of Warwick, Media Matters for Democracy, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), and Taskeen.
I am currently running an indie publishing with my husband (also an author) called BLIMP Press to highlight contemporary voices in Pakistan & beyond.
